The OWN WAR Project is a powerful storytelling and visual advocacy initiative that redefines how refugee experiences are seen and understood.
Founded by youth changemakers, the project uses art, photography, and multimedia to highlight the human stories behind displacement, moving beyond statistics to real lives, identities, and achievements.
Concept
OWN WAR challenges dominant narratives by asking a simple but powerful question:
👉 What if refugees were seen as individuals with stories, talents, and dreams, not just numbers?
Through creative visual storytelling (such as double exposure photography), the project captures:
