Youth for Peace Initiative
The Youth for Peace Initiative is a youth-led movement born in Irbid, Jordan, driven by the belief that young people are not only beneficiaries of change, but powerful leaders of it. Founded by passionate youth with lived experiences of displacement, identity challenges, and social division, the initiative emerged as a response to the urgent need for dialogue, inclusion, and peacebuilding in diverse communities. Today, and from Geneva, Youth for Peace bring together young people from different backgrounds to co-create solutions, amplify their voices, and build bridges across cultures.
Our Vision
A world where young people lead inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable societies, grounded in mutual understanding, global citizenship, and shared humanity.
Our Mission
To empower youth, especially those from marginalized and displaced communities to become changemakers, peacebuilders, and global citizens through education, dialogue, and positive action.
Our Values
Why It Matters
Across many communities, especially those affected by displacement, young people face limited opportunities to engage in meaningful dialogue or develop leadership skills. This often leads to misunderstanding, exclusion, and missed potential.
Youth for Peace addresses this gap by creating safe, inclusive spaces where youth can:
- Learn about global challenges
- Engage in intercultural dialogue
- Build empathy and leadership skills
- Transform ideas into real community impact
What We Do
- Facilitate intercultural dialogue between diverse youth groups
- Deliver training in peacebuilding, ethical leadership, and global citizenship
- Working with young people on addressing local and global challenges
- Amplify youth voices through storytelling, media, and policy engagement
